what is the date of manufacture of a High Standard Sentinel r 103 22 cal pistol
The High Standard Supermatic pistols were amongst the best American made.22. This pistol has the 7¼” inch fluted barrel and is serial number #2156898. Hi Standard serial numbers by Hi Standard location by saltydog452 on, 8:01 am I know this information is a available somewhere but I have yet been able to find it. The High Standard Collectors' Association was founded in 1991 to promote friendship and communication among the those interested in the collection, research, preservation and use of High Standard firearms, memorabilia and accessories. We include the Fiala, Hartford Arms and Schall firearms as part of our group.
I have come into possession of a High Standard HD Military model serial number157XXX. The serial number is in the range of an early post war gun so it is not likely that it is the model made for military training which would be marked 'U.S.A. MODEL HD' There were no government contracts for the HD- Military model. High Standard made. Sentinel: 'L63279' is not a serial number for a High Standard Sentinel Revolver. Sentinel revolvers had no letter prefix to the serial number.

That is probably pretty close to the year of manufacture. DevilsAdvocate: That is sure one nice clean looking gun dose not look like it has been abused or seen much use. I am sure you will put it to good use. A500R

Sorry, no clue other than this quote below from my research into it. From that above number, well over 3 million I would hazard a guess that it came quite some time after 67. Serial numbers began appearing on the High Standard shotguns during mid to late 1967.
You might also get a clue by checking the manuals at one of these sites: http://www.histandard.info/manuals/hmodel10/ http://www.histandard.info/manuals/ Also the model itself might tell you something along with these manuals and their model number, like for example the K120 was a later subcontracted version of the HS made K1200. _________________ To cut down on gun violence, make stabbing, beating, and choking legal. Through a bit of research I determined that it was a High Standard. Even though it only had 1 action bar, it was by far the slickest pump gun I have ever owned. It would indeed open by gravity alone when the bolt release was pushed. I sold in in the '80s when I was hard up for $$$. I wish I hadn't sold it. _________________ Life is more excitin' when yer stikin' suppossitories inta a wildcat's behind.

I only know of one person who ever had trouble breaking action bars on a single action bar gun. That was on Ithaca model 37s. This guy who was sort of an 800 pound gorilla broke action bars on his two model 37s regularly shooting skeet. One was a 12 and the other was a 20. He quit using them because of this action bar breakage. I assume others did break because most guns went to dual bars, but as I said this one is the only one I ever heard of. On dual action bars, I know the Ithaca model 51 automatic broke them pretty regular, and none are available now, all the spares having been used up. Break one now and you have a welding job before you are shooting again. Maybe action bars breaking is an Ithaca thing. It looks like you could pretty easily make some of the action bars on these high standards if you had to. _________________ To cut down on gun violence, make stabbing, beating, and choking legal. I have not been able to ind a date on it but the serial is 3137xxx. It is just like this one: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=244205&start=20 I was wondering if anyone had heard of the HS model 880 or has any info? I have looked and looked and I can't find a manual or website with Model 880 information.

I own a 12ga Supermatic Trap........ basically an 1100 Rem in looks. I have replaced a few parts that indicated a little wear but the gun functions perfectly and works just fine for trap. It is energetic on the extraction though and if you use the inexpensive shells or a hot reload the extractor will on occassion pull through the rim. The gas system is adjustable though and if you adjust it for the load you are shooting there are no problems.......... Larry

The action on this shotgun is smooth like butter, and that old manual is right, if I hold it muzzle up the pump slides down. One question though, the front bead post is drilled through the barrel wall and into the bore, 1/16th ti 1/8 on an inch. It looks from the factory that way. It seems like I couldn't fire slugs through it like that. I can't tell what the choke is on it. What are the opinions? Hold on, I figured out I need to search GOOGLE, not shotgunworld.com. I still don't see a Model 880 listed. Someone said in the 70's High Standard was purchased by another owner and the new owner made alot of changes. EDIT : I found a little info: The Models 880 were specially branded guns made for White Auto Stores in the early 1970's It is indeed a version of the K-121 Flite King.
